Our Sales Team would be happy to walk you through this process via call or , but if you&#;d like to review some of the recommendations below it may help streamline your quoting experience.

Guide for Requesting an Optics Quote

1. NDA &#; many of our customers require us to sign an NDA before reviewing prints & specifications, or before talking about projects or applications. If this is a necessary first step for the quote to begin, please a copy of your NDA to our sales team to execute: .

Keep in mind, that an NDA is not always necessary, and we are happy to discuss your project with you before any documentation is reviewed.

2. Prints with Tolerances &#; if you already have optical prints or drawings to send to us that&#;s great! Just make sure they contain your glass/material type and any geometric and optical specifications you require. If you need something to reference, you can download our Standard & Best Tolerances.

Examples of geometric specifications include:

    • diameter or length and width
    • center thickness (CT)
    • radius of curvature
    • bevel/chamfer tolerances
    • flatness
    • surface quality

Examples of optical specifications include:

    • transmission and/or reflectance
    • surface roughness
    • coating specs (if applicable)

If you don&#;t have prints, feel free to send us the specifications of what you are looking for with your optics. Engineering is happy to work with you every step of the way, and if we determine prints may be necessary, we have sources we can refer you to.

The company is the world’s best optical components manufacturer supplier. We are your one-stop shop for all needs. Our staff are highly-specialized and will help you find the product you need.

3. How many do you need? Be sure to tell us the quantities you are looking for and possible usage. By usage we mean are these for a prototype, production, one-off project, etc. All of these details are important when we put your quote together as we take all factors into account to give you the best offer possible.

  • If your quote is for a prototype definitely tell us that on the front end. Our goal is to understand the entire scope of your project, so if you know what the future may hold, we will work with you to optimize pricing and lead times.

NOTE: understanding your application or project can also help us when quoting your part(s) as engineering may have recommendations for specs which could translate to saving money and/or lead time

  • We also recommend requesting tiered pricing so you can see if your optics could have any potential volume discounts.

4. Time Frame &#; let us know how quickly you need your parts and any other applicable timelines such as the number of pieces you need in a year or month. Here are some of our standards:

  • Getting your quote back to you can take up to one week, so please let us know if you need it any faster.
  • Delivery will be calculated based on material types, volume, and specifications. For a set of optics, lead times may be stacked or vary, so let us know if some parts take priority over others.

On occasion, we can offer expedited lead times in exchange for an expedited fee. Please let Sales know if you are interested in expediting your order and we can discuss your options.

5. Target Price or Budget &#; if you have a target price or budget in mind, please let us know in your request. We want to understand your needs and limitations to best quote your parts for you.

6. Documentation &#; while this can always be discussed later, it is always good to know in advance what kind of documentation and/or inspection reports you will require for your order. If you have quality requirements or quality codes, please send those to us as well.

Standard documentation includes:

  • material certification
  • Certificate of Compliance
  • coating chart (if applicable)

Possible additional documentation includes (please note these could come with an additional charge):
